Mainpat is known as the "Shimla of Chhattisgarh" and is a popular tourist attraction. It is also home to a number of Tibetan religious exiles who worship at a temple dedicated to Buddha and manufacture designer mats as well as woolen cloth.
Mainpat is charming picturesque place atop a jungle plateau with many cultural and natural sites of interest. Viewed from Mehta Point and Pharphatia, the valley and hills of Mainpat offers beautiful water falls, like Tiger Point where tigers roam and Machali or Fish Point as the river here was known for a type of fish. A strange sight includes the bouncing swap of Jaljali and charming Chota Jharanā tucked away in a pocket of jungle with a small waterfall with beautiful scenic views.
Well, there are many waterfalls, rivers and scenic places here, but if you do not see the sight of Tiger Point, Fish Point and Mehta Point, then do not see anything. Local people say that Tiger used to drink water at Tiger Point. You can see different species of fish at Fish Point. On the Mehta Point, the sunrise and sunset views will always be in your mind. In 'Swampy' here, the sponge land will take you closer to nature.
